Exchanges hold more than two-thirds of the Litecoin on the register

Exchanges held Ł11,296,137 as of Oct 11, 2026, or 68.7% of the estimated Ł16,431,303 held by the 98 holders on Litecoin Register, according to the register’s figures.

That is more than twice the LTC held by every other category combined. Investment products followed with Ł2,567,605, then ecosystem protocols with Ł1,346,655, company treasuries with Ł868,353, miners with Ł341,787 and governments with Ł10,765.

An exchange’s figure is mostly its customers’ coins, not its own. The register counts the LTC an exchange holds in custody, as its proof-of-reserves report or attributed addresses show it.

One exchange, a third of the register

Binance Exchange held Ł5,463,044 as of Oct 11, the largest of the 98 holders. That is 33.2% of the register total and 48.4% of the LTC held by exchanges.

The figure is the combined balance of 43 addresses linked to Binance, a method the register calls on-chain attribution. It usually understates the full holding, since an exchange can hold coins at addresses not yet linked to it.

OKX Exchange was second with Ł2,901,765, and ByBit Exchange third among exchanges with Ł1,221,295.

Down from last year’s high

Exchange holdings fell Ł1,304,149, or 10.4%, in the year to Oct 11, from Ł12,600,286. They peaked at Ł13,106,854 on Jul 29, 2025, and stood 13.8% below that high.

Binance accounted for more than the whole decline. Its holding fell Ł1,412,162, or 20.5%, over the year, from a record Ł7,436,331 on Aug 14, 2025, while other exchanges together added coins.

Totals add each holder’s latest reported figure. Holders report on different dates and by different methods, so a total is an estimate rather than a balance on a single day. The methodology explains how totals are computed.
